A seated twist that combines rotation with forward flexion, stretching the back and hamstrings.

Inhale to twist, exhale to reach and saw

1Setup

Sit tall with legs extended wider than shoulders, feet flexed. Arms reach out to sides at shoulder height, palms down.

2Execution

1. Inhale, grow tall, twist torso to the right. 2. Exhale, round forward, reaching left pinky past right little toe. 3. "Saw" the toe off with three pulses. 4. Inhale, unwind and sit tall center. 5. Exhale, twist left and reach right pinky past left toe. 6. Continue alternating sides. 7. Repeat 4-6 times each side.

Tips for Better Form

  • Keep both hips anchored to mat
  • Back arm stays lifted
  • Twist before you reach
  • Keep legs straight and active
